Citizenship Ceremony Abroad

Post by sergio2016 » Sat May 07, 2016 12:46 am

Hello all,

I am inquiring on behalf of someone else, the person in question has been granted British Citizenship and as required they have booked to attend a ceremony in June 2016. However, due to some family issues (member terminally ill) they had to travel to be with them (Morocco). The question is whether they can take their Citizenship ceremony in Morocco? they are unsure as to when they will return to UK due to the unforeseen circumstance. If it is possible, then how should they go about doing this...Would appreciate some advice regarding this.. many thanks..

If the person is the spouse or civil partner of a British citizen, then yes. Else, no.
