Tier 2(G) ext early application. COS allocation this friday*

Hi Gurus,

Please any help will be greatly appreciated! My Tier 2 visa is due to run out on August 2016, I am planning to extend it soon because I am worried the codes of practice document might get updated any time and my employer might not agree if there is a salary rise required. Can I apply now or shall I wait until June? I am confused about the clause on policy guidance document which says "A valid CoS must:have been assigned no more than 3 months before the date of application" and "have a start date no more than 3 months after the date of application". Having gone through most of the messages here, people seem to be saying that its okay to apply early. Is this mentioned anywhere in the policy document? Please any idea how to confirm this?

Hello friends,

Does anyone have any idea on the above? I called the helpline number and was advised to apply before 28 days of my visa expiry date. I am confused! Please help!

you can apply anytime.. 3 months, 6 months, a year before ur current leave expires.
Only problem with applying early is, you get shorter leave. (if u had applied for 3 years leave in aug 16, it would end in aug 19, whereas applying now, the leave will end a little earlier.
But for your concerns, it is definitely a good idea applying now, if u think your soc code will have higher salary requirement.
