Hello, i am a US citizen on a Tier 2 ICT long term visa. I have Accepted an offer with a new employer but neither party was aware of the cooling off period until recently. So I have agreed to move to Amsterdam for 12 months and take a contract under their Dutch entity. In theory I would be looking to make frequent visits to the uk for business.
From what I gather, US citizens can spend up to 180 days in the UK for tourism and limited business as long as they are not living/employed in the UK. My question is, does this have any impact on the cooling off period? I will be looking to reapply for a Tier 2 after 12 months.
If so, what is the max number of days I can spend in the UK? I'd find it hard to believe I can't visit at all without affecting the cooling off clock. I am looking to come 1 week per month.
Thanks for the advice.
