English Language requirements after PBS Calculator abolition

Post by ncrmcr » Sun May 22, 2016 11:17 am

Dear members,

I intend to apply for UK naturalisation soon (having put if off for years) but have only recently realised that the PBS calculator is now offline and that one is not allowed to use this any longer to satisfy English language requirements (as of April 2016). Having said so, I did manage to find an old saved screenshot in my computer of the points my overseas degree received using this calculator (which I generated before it got taken down). Since I got my ILR 5 years ago (when I didn't need to use the PBS calculator or my old IELTS towards this) I'd be grateful if anyone could clarify if:

- I can still use the old print out of my PBS points along with my original overseas degree (since the latest AN guidance is still from Dec 2015 & it mentions that the PBS points can be used), or
- it's simpler just to re-sit the IELTS or apply for a UK NARIC Statement of Comparability (SoC)

Alternatively if I have a UK postgraduate diploma from a Royal College (medical) would that count as a UK degree in lieu of getting a SoC from NARIC?

Thanks in anticipation
