Can you be refused for "strong ties" with home country?

Post by salmintin » Sun May 22, 2016 11:20 am

If I were to apply today for BC, one thing would stand out: many visits to my home country. In some years very frequent (every 1-2 months), in others less frequent, but overall the trend is obvious.

Is that likely to cause issues?

Please note that I am well within the total absences requirement for the past year, as well as the past 5 years.

Thanks

It won't as long as you're within the permitted absence, which you've confirmed you are.

You're welcome. If you're applying through the NCS you may want to consider the option of the joint BC/passport application. I believe the trial scheme has now been rolled out nationwide and it avoids the requirement to attend an interview before the passport is issued.
