Visa Pending question

Post by fizz » Mon Nov 26, 2007 8:41 am

Hi guys

My wife & I submitted an application for a settlement visa on the 5th Nov while I was in India. She was given a medical letter a week letter. She had the xrays etc... And then saw the doctor they specified on the letter on the 20th.

What I would like to know is how long is it likely to be before she gets her visa / passport. She rang the embassy in Mumbai & was told her passport is ready for collection, but after the 1 1/2 hour journey down there she was told that they had made a mistake and the application was still pending.

The doc did tell her that her medical was ok and it was just a case of waiting but didn’t tell her how long. Id appreciate it if anyone who was in a similar situation could possibly advise on how long it will be approx before she gets her visa, so that I can make plans accordingly. Min / max times would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Just to let you know, that my wife called the embassy yesterday & was told that her passport was ready for collection, only to be sent back after a 2.5 hour journey as they had made a mistake :( Is this a common occurrance?

Thanks for the reply Victoria, I think I will complain after she has got her Visa. There is a link on the site for complaints.

Any ideas how long it may take for the visa to come through, from previous experiences, anyone?
