english exam for spouse settlement visa

hi,
while completing the application for spouse settlement visa, i came across the english language ..
my wife applying from india , is she need to write the IELTS EXAM ??. she did her studies in english medium , so if i get comparison with UK NARIC IS ENOUGH ? Please clear my doubt?

Hello Ravi

She will need to do the ILETS life skills exam at level A1 for the settlement visa and then at level B1 for indefinite leave to remain. the exam is held by two bodies

i think IDP is better as they offer more locations and exam dates

the fee is around Rs14,500 for the exam and does not include training and practice. it last for around 25-30 mins and is only a speaking and listening (not written)

once passed the certificate is valid for 2 years


if she had a degree taught in english then she will not need to do the exam ( its still best to do it)
