Indian Passport Surrender

I received the message from HM Passport office on 28th May that I will receive my British passport within few days so I booked the appointment for Indian Passport surrender for 3rd June 2016. So my appointment is tomorrow and I haven't received the British passport yet I also cannot cancel the appointment since I have missed the 48hr period. So is it alright to go without British passport or they wont accept my application?
