Lost my passport during the citizenship application process

Post by tonynz » Mon Jun 06, 2016 2:13 pm

Hello,

I've used NCS to apply for my citizenship and now during the process I've lost my passport.

The NCS did take a photocopy of my passport at the time.

Anyone know if they will confirm the passport validity with my home country?

Do I need to inform UKBA?

It does no harm to declare your passport lost as a standard pass lost procedure.

Since NCS took a copy, you should be fine but note that UKBA can ask for originals at anytime - so pray they dont do that in your situation
