A few simple questions,as the more I read the more confused

Hi

I keep thinking that this shouldn't be too difficult, but the more I read on this the more confused I get. So here goes:

I am a British Citizen otherwise than by descent. I am married to an American Citizen. I have 3 children (under 18) all born in the US to my wife and I.

As I understand it:

1) They are eligible to be British Citizens by Descent.
2) I would fill out form MN1 for each child to register as a British Citizen by Descent

Assuming that is correct then my questions are:

A) What would I fill out for Question 1.1 on MN1? I cannot figure out which section of the Nationality Act applies from the guide for MN1.
B) As the kids citizenship by descent is based on my Citizenship do I need to send their grandparents passport and marriage certificate?

Any child born before 1 July 2006?

If born after 2006, my understanding is, such children (born abroad) to a British parent are automatically British (by descent) and they may apply for passports directly.

They were all born before 2006. So that would explain my confusion - they don't need MN1 and can just apply for a passport directly.

I think so, as you were (/are) married.

The pre-2006 link applies to unmarried fathers (I think).

Maybe another member will stop by soon, to confirm.
