Delay the start date of Tier 2 visa

I am posting this on behalf of a friend.

I am a Pakistani resident and my UK employer's application for COS has been approved by the UKBA. I am travelling to France for 2 months so I needed to ask if it is possible that I apply for Tier 2 visa while i am in Pakistan and request the UKBA to send the passport back and then travel to France and when my visa application gets finalized, I then submit the passport in the UK embassy in France to get the visa stamp? So that I don't have to make a trip back to Pakistan only to get the visa stamp before going to UK

Not going to happen. They do not wing your passport about the globe at your request.
Plus they keep your passport until the visa decision is made. So your French trip will have to wait pending your visa issue. Please also consider the visa they issue is for 30 days to travel to the UK. So make sure the start dates are sorted and that you will actually go to the UK in the allotted time.
