FLR(M) section 4 dependent children

Hi,


Long time since I've been on and hoping I can get some help.


I'm the sponsor on my wife's application FLR(M) and we've got stuck on page 15

I have 2 children aged 11 & 16 born in the UK from a previous marriage so my wife would tick yes to question 4.3.a "Does your sponsor have any children living in the UK who's parent is not you".

She would tick no to 4.3.b "Is this child applying with you" as they are not applying, just my wife. My confusion is with filling in the following questions. There are questions asking about my kids passport numbers and what countries my kids may have visited which hardly seems relevant.

Seeing as I'm not on the best of terms with my ex wife and I only see them every fortnight if things are going well, she is hardly likely to provide me with passport info of my kids.

Also another problem is on p61 where I need to supply the children's birth certificates - again my ex is hardly going to help!

This visa stuff isn't clear

I assume you children from previous marrige are not living with you but your ex wife then no seem more relevant

4.5 If you have answered no to question o) in the table in question 4.4 provide details of where
the child/children live, who they live with and their relationship with that person. Include the
reason why they do not live with you and your sponsor.

You're right, they don't live with me.

I answered yes in the question 4.3.a about having children as I do.

I called UKVI and was told to fill in as many of the following questions as possible and to attach a covering letter explaining why I don't know about passports of birth certs due to the poor communication with my ex.

This is one for all form so different people might be in different circumstances and certain things on forms might not be applicable to them. These extra details of children from previous marriage would make more sense if kids would have been be living with you . Try to provide what is relevant to you and leave rest as blank that you cannot provide . You can give them further clarification in additional section of the forms.
