passport expiry date for PR

is there a time limit how long the passport have to be valid after the application for PR have been submitted?
My friends passport expiry date is 23rd June, so week from now, I will be looking at his app tomorrow so hopefully he can send if off Friday/Saturday which means it will be delivered on Monday to Home Office. will that be enough time for them to have a look at the paperwork?
