Management Accounts for 4 months

Hi
I'm applying first week of August this year for extension.My company's financial year ended 31/03/16 and I'm thinking about two options:
1 Either to file statutory accounts till 31/03/16 and prepare 4 months management accounts Or
2 compile management accounts for 16 months for home office as annual accounts filing date to CH is 31/12/16 but then filing history page will not show the current year filing.

Any suggestions

File your accounts to HMRC as normal, and attach management accounts for extra period to cover it all.
