Visa requirements for family and friends of british citizen

Hi,

I am British passport holder (naturalized citizen) and have a wedding planned next year. I would like to arrange for multiple visas from India and Dubai for the wedding.

1) Please can you advise on the key requirements for the documents that need to be produced for standard UK visa (upto 6 months stay).

2) Can applicants make the visa arrangement on their own without sponsorship or any format of letter from me to support their applications? - if not, then what specific supporting documents would they need from me to support their individual applications?

Main requirement is to show strong ties to home country, reinforcing intentions to depart from the UK after completion of visit, etc.

Examples: property or business ownership, permanent employment, long term study, dependent relatives in the home country

In my case...these are retired family members - so not sure how employment and other factors can be used here - what would be the evidence for retired members.

I gave you examples, obviously not all have to be relevant to the applicant. What evidence can they provide to convince the Entry Clearance Officer that they will return to their home country without overstaying as visitors?
