Travelling (3 months expiry date of passport)

Post by ilrspouse1 » Wed Jun 22, 2016 1:26 pm

I am on ILR and will be applying for British citizenship next month. After applying for the BC, I will be travelling to Dubai in August for a couple of weeks. My passort expires in November. I have two questions:

1) Will I face any issues during my return flight as my passport will have a slightly more than 3 months before it expires?
2) Are there any restrictions on passport validity/expiry for ILR holders before allowing them to depart from Dubai (or any other country) for a UK bound flight?

Thanks

1) No.
2) No.

The passport validity period is significant when applying for visas, but from a travel perspective the only requirement is that it's valid & doesn't expire during the period you are travelling. I have travelled in and out of the UK with a passport with less than 3 months before its expiry date, in the past.
