Rejected because of using old IHS number

Hi,

I applied visa tier 4 with paid IHS last year. This year, I applied a new visa tier2 and I used the previous IHS reference number. I received a mail said that I have to paid IHS. I'm confusing because I already paid it last year. I guess that is because they want me to pay for a new IHS.

I can pay for a new IHS. However, the problem is that it may generate a new IHS reference number (I'm not sure if it generates new reference number or not). In the case if it does, how can I tell visa department my new IHS reference number? Or will they update their system automatically?

of course u had to pay for IHS again. It is your fault that u didnt pay again.
Pay again and write to them including the reference number on the letter that u have received and tell that the new IHS number.

The problem is that, in the mail, they said that I need to go to web site (gov.uk....) and make the appropriate payment and do not need to send back to them any thing. I have done the payment. I have a new IHS reference number. Is that all? How do they know the new IHS reference number if I do not send back to them a letter?
