Hi Everyone,
Like many I'm sure, I'm here because of Brexit.
I'm British, and my wife is French.
Her father is British. She was born before 1983, and her father was married to her mother when she was born. So, it seems that she is already a British Citizen by descent.
We want to apply for a passport for her, so we have "proof" if everything goes sideways. (We're living in the UK)
I'm not clear on what documentation needs to be sent with the passport.
So far I have: Her French passport, Her birth certificate, Her father's birth certificate, Her parent's marriage certificate.
My questions are, do the French documents need to be translated (certified) copies, or are originals in French OK? Also, would I need to send our marriage certificate, as her surname has changed due to our marriage (to mine)?
Also, if he has a British passport, an I enter this in the form, does this change what I need to send?
Cheers,
