Permanent Residence application

Post by true_007 » Sun Jun 26, 2016 7:58 am

Hello, I have a question about UK Perm residence application. I have a dependent (on me) who has been in this status for four years living in UK, next year it will be their 5 year of "dependency" and I m planning to apply for permanent residence for them. However, they decided to become a self-employed now and do a small job. How will this affect their application? will it be split as like 4 years of dependency and 1 year of self employment?

Yes that approach is possible.
You will need good documentary supporting evidence for all periods.

You say the self-employment is a "small job"; are you sure it can be classed as genuine and effective work?
HO will apply its MET/PET tests to check on this.

the pay would be 160 £ per week. so maybe not so small. It s my dependent who I will employ in business. So they will become independent taxpayers. They want to work but I need to know if this will interfere with these 4 years of their dependency on me cause it is just one year left.

I expect you have googled it yourself by now - but if not here's a start:

Yes thank you, very informative. However, my question really is about the mixing dependency and self employment or any other employment as a part of 5 years in application for a permanent residence.
