Naturalisation employment history

Post by Mithun008 » Mon Jun 27, 2016 3:55 am

Hello,
I am applying for naturalisation after 1 year of my ILR. I have noticed that there is a section for 10 years employment history.
My question is that I was a company director from 2010 to 2015. My accountant send the return on time every year but I never been registered as a self employed. My company was in net loss for last 5 years and I close the company on September 2015 and there is no outstanding debt. Now I am in full time employment. Is there any requirement for a director must be a self employed. Can Home office refuse my naturalisation not to registered as a self employed during this period while I am a director of a company. If anyone can please suggest on that .
Thank you.

A director is a different form of economic activity than being selfemployed. There are both options on the form, neither are relevant if you are now an employee.

Citizenship is not a visa, employment is not even mandatory.
All HO will be interested in is legality, compliance with previous visas terms, immigration regulations and that old chestnut 'good character'.

but what do you fill in the employment history.

obviously you mention in the table about self employment
and what documents do you show for that?
I am struggling to find an answer to this as well. Currenlty in full time job but confused about past self employment history !
Perhaps as the guidance changed recently - no one can advice :(
