Start date and End date in COS issue

Hello members,

I am a bit confused regarding the End date in the COS.
I am applying for a Tier 2 General extension.

Old COS:
Start date: 21st August 2013
End date: 20th August 2016

VISA expiry date : 3rd Sep 2016

Tiers 2 and 5: guidance for sponsors (http://tinyurl.com/hpx2f8q) states
"38.25 When you assign a CoS to extend a migrant’s leave in the same tier and category, the start date on the CoS should be the day after their current leave expires."


According to the above statement in my new COS start date has to be 4th Sep 2016.

My question is can I work to the company from 20th August 2016 to 3rd Sep 2016?

Any guidance is much appreciated.

Yes, you can. You can work as long as you have a valid visa.
