Domestic Violence victims and PR

I am an EU Citizen. I been working in UK in 2008 -2011, and then 2013-2015. From November 2015 didn't work and am staying home taking care for a child my partner was working full time. I didn't came back to work because of childcare - it cost more per hour then a minimum wage. I was working between February and June but only 4 hours a week for my ex partner limited company. From June 2016 we are separated due to domestic violence and I take care for our son who is 18 months old. My ex partner is working. I am register as jobseeker. My ex partner is an EU Citizen too. Our son was born in UK. we haven't been married, but been in relationship for 7 years. And lived in one household for 20 months before separation.
I wonder if I have any rights to other benefits then JSA, I wonder about housing benefit as I live in area which is quite expensive. Due to insufficient funds I would have to leave UK.
I wonder as well how is my continuity for permanent residence - is it broken because I didn't work for a while?
I may have to leave UK for few months because of financial issues, but as well dealing with aftermath of domestic violence - I really need to be now with family to get some emotional support. When would I have to come back if I don't want to loose time I already been here and apply for PR in the future?
Or maybe someone has any other advice?
