Child born in UK to Indian parents - visa requirement

Post by chandrasekar.daya » Tue Jul 05, 2016 8:16 am

Hi,

Our baby boy was born in UK 4 months back. My assignment in UK is ending this month and I am relocating to India. I would like to know if my baby requires UK visa stamped in his new Indian passport to travel to India. I do not intend to come back to UK. I just want to know if his new Indian passport alone is sufficient to travel to India. Thanks!

If you don't intend to return on the same visa, there is no need to get a visa stamped in your kid's passport since he was born in UK. Just the passport should suffice.

Just to add on your child only needs a UK visa if they need to travel in and out of uK (if born in UK).
A lot of people leave their children in boarding schools in the UK till they turn 10 and then register them as a British Citizen directly.

4 months old is far too young for boarding schools.
