Switching from Tier 2 General to Tier 2 Dependent

Post by username01 » Thu Jul 07, 2016 10:58 am

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone can provide information on the following matter:

I'm getting married this week and my htb is on Tier 2 General Visa. I'm on Tier 2 General visa too, but would like to switch to Tier 2 Dependent.

I was wondering if its possible to do so from within the UK and what documents should we consider?
Since we are both in the UK on Tier 2 working, what sort of documents do we need to provide?

Any information is appreciated!

Thank you

You can switch from within UK. The usual documentation - photo, bank statement showing savings and main applicant details - should suffice. IHS will be required to be paid again.

Hi!

Thank you very much for your response.

I've been reading online about application documents that other people brought and came across this list:

1) Duly completed Visa Application form.(Mandatory)
2) NHS Surcharges Paid receipt (Mandatory)
3) Two Recent passport – sized photographs with names written on the back of the Photographs.(Mandatory)
4) My Original Passport(Mandatory)
6) Tuberculosis Test Report.(Not usure if this needs to be done since im applying from within uk?)???
7) Photocopies of my Educational Certificates.(Mandatory)Wife (Main Applicant) - same thing here, since im working do I need to provide these?
Supporting Documents:
8) Sponsor Letter from Wife(Mandatory).
9) Attested photocopies of Passport and BRP card(Mandatory).
10) Certificate of Sponsorship Details (Optional)
11) Original Employment Verification Letter.(Mandatory)
12) Original P60 Form(Optional).
13) Most recent Original Pay slips
14) Funds maintenance and Accommodation: Bank statements of main applicant(Mandatory), Tenancy agreement and No Objection Letter from Main applicant Landlord(Optional).
Wedding Related Documents:
15) Marriage Certificate(Mandatory).
16) Marriage Invitation Card with Attested Translation in English(Optional).
17) Marriage Photos(Mandatory). we are having a simple registry, the wedding itself will be held a year from now. Now sure what to do here?
Relationship Evident Documents: ( you might have to provide if the case worker is not satisfied with the evidence provided as a proof of your marraige just to show the subsistency in relation ship.)
19) Proof of individuals telephone numbers and History of call log , main applicant Call log history from one of the source : Telecoms ( Tesco Calling Card App)
20) Exchanged Email Logs copy.
21) Random Skype screen shots copy.
22) Other photos.

This seem as a very complicated process whereas I though standard list will be sufficient?

Thank you

Just to add, gone are the days where just a marriage certificate would suffice. HO does more scrutiny of dependent applications nowadays and hence its better to submit more supporting documents to support your case.
