Life in UK and English language requirement

Post by prabhus14 » Sat Jul 09, 2016 10:54 pm

Dear All,

I received ILR during Jan 2013. I had taken up life in the uk test then. Is there any expiry date for this test or is it valid for naturalisation application in 2016?

Thanks in advance.

Best,
Prabhu

No expiry for LITUK.

Note that does not satisfy the requirement for proof of English.

Life in the UK is valid indefinitely (no expiry date) so can be used again.

However, rules changed on 28 October 2013 in which both Life in the UK and English B1 are required to meet the requirements for ILR and BC.

Since you obtained your ILR prior to the rule change, you would need to satisfy the English B1 requirement in addition to using the LIUK.
