switching from T2 to ECAA Ankara Agreement

Post by londonasd » Sun Jul 10, 2016 9:56 am

Hello All,

I have been working here for 4+ years with same job and I have been working under T2 visa for over 2 years now (2 years PSW + 2 years T2) but they indicated they might not sponsor me further. As a turkish national, I can apply for turkish visa (Ankara agreement) as long as I am working here at least 1 year legally. So I want to switch into this category.

My problem is they sent me an email saying that if I apply for new visa it will breach their sponsorship conditions. I looked at T2 employer guide but I couldnt see anything regarding to it.Is this true?

Cheers

Applying for the visa will not breach their licence. If they failed to inform UKVI once you changed visa that would be an issue.

I may not have this entirely correct - I thought ECAA was for self employed / business start up only. So would your current employer take you on as a contractor?

There are 2 types of Turkish visa. Business startup and worker visa.

I checked the sponsor company document from home office and it doesn't say anything about breach of conditions. It says I can switch visa as long as I am qualified.

Make sure they are going to support your application. If they won't you can't readily apply.
