Delay between signing the form and sending it off?

Hello. I am intending to apply for British Citizenship at the end of August / early September. However, I want my referees to fill out and sign the relevant part of the application form now, in early/mid July. I will fill out and sign the rest of the application just prior to sending it off. So there will be 6-8 weeks gap between my, and my referees' details.

This is because my referees are likely to be away all August, and I am unable to apply sooner due to the 5 year rule. I also will be travelling between now and mid August, so it would be inconvenient for me to apply, as I'll have to be present in UK to make Biometrics done on time, etc.

Is this time gap between mine and my referees signatures / and me actually sending off the form likely to cause difficulties? I am not aware of any rule regarding this, but I am concerned nonetheless that this will cause extra questions from UKVI.

The relevant rule requires such referee signatures to be fresher than 6 months.

Thanks you. I have called Citizenship and Nationality enquiries service, and they did not seem aware of the 6 months rule. They said something like if it is older than 2-3 weeks, it's better to send a covering letter explaining the situation.

I will be cautious with advise from the Nationality Helpline as it tends to be inconsistent. I bet you that if you ring again, someone else would give you a different advise!

Step away from the telephone.

The helpline frequently gives inconsistent 'advice' and, even when it is wrong, will not be held accountable for the consequences for anyone acting on such 'advice'.
