Help!!!

Post by primo » Mon Jul 11, 2016 7:58 pm

I'm frustrated and don't know what to do.

I came into the UK on a 6 months Visitors Visa in December 2016. I've since overstayed and I've been an illegal immigrant since then.

I've not had any legitimate employment whatsoever since I'm not documented. I've been working in the Black economy as they say.

What can I do to legitimize myself?

All advise is welcome.

Cheers

Return to your home country and apply for a visa for which you qualify. As an illegal resident you will have no right to work, rent accomodation, open a bank account, or hold a driving licence. Any landlord renting you a property and anyone employing you will face a considerable fine for doing so.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Suggest travel back to mother ship as you are evidently from a far more advanced civilisation than ours.

:D

Admittedly this is not the best way to start a UK immigration journey. If you make yourself known to the UK authorities you will almost certainly be arrested and deported.

Do you have any family/children with you? Any basis for a human rights claim, asylum etc?

Your best bet is to depart the country ASAP, without the assistance of the immigration authorities.

It's now a crime to work without the correct permission from today, with up to 51 weeks in jail, fine and proceeds of that crime seized. Something like 5 or 6 years in jail for their employer. That relevant part of the Immigration Act 2016 is now in.
