Need some Guidance

Post by MrsGarvey2015 » Tue Jul 12, 2016 10:11 pm

Hello

I am a British overseas territory citizen( Turks and Caicos Islands) and I am planning on moving to the UK this year with my daughter, but my husband (married 1 year) is from Jamaica and he will need some form of document/visa to join us to move to the uk same time as us.

Can someone help me on the process of setting this up please or inform me of what type of visa can he apply for and do he need to go back to Jamaica to apply for the visa or can it be done online?

Thank you! :D

Yes since we are a british overseas territory and has british passport we are allowed to live and work in the uk. But I need to know what I have to do to get my husband straight so he can come to the uk with us to live permanently.

Can you assist me with guidelines for that please?

Are you also a British citizen?

Probably yes.

You automatically became a British citizen on 21 May 2002 if your British overseas territories citizenship was gained by connection with a qualifying territory.

The qualifying territories are:

Anguilla
Bermuda
British Antarctic Territory
British Indian Ocean Territory
British Virgin Islands
Cayman Islands
Falkland Islands
Gibraltar
Montserrat
Pitcairn Islands
Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha
South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands
Turks and Caicos Islands
Spouse may apply for a settlement visa to join you, subject to applicable requirements.

Alternatively, a work detour in an EEA country.
