Tier 2 General Dependant Info

Post by mick2016 » Sun Jul 17, 2016 12:52 am

Hey everyone, new memeber here and I'd just love to gather some information regarding my partners and I situation.

My new wife recently got a sponsored position in the UK (we're both Australian) we are both about to apply for visas but literally have only been married a couple of weeks. My wife has been trying and applying for jobs in the UK for over 6 months now and she recently got one. We're both quite happy. Now where my worry lies is that we've only been a couple for 18 months and got married 2 weeks ago. We have been living together a shade under a year. Now I've been reading up a lot on the dependant side of the visa requirements and it says that a marriage certificate is sufficiant but I worry that our length of marriage is too short and given that we've only been living together under a year we couldn't really supply the 24 months living arragements.

Has anyone lived or encountered this type of scenario before? We'd hate to pay all the fees involved only for me to be denied entry due to our circumstance.

Thanks in advance everyone :)
Michael

My understanding is people are not expected to show evidence of cohabitation prior to marriage; (in some cultures that would not be possible and would not happen).
All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost. E&OE.
