EEA PR - Adding family members

Post by M112 » Tue Jul 19, 2016 9:28 am

Hello,

I'm an EU national trying to get PR for myself and my wife. We have been here for almost 15 years and I think this is a time to get some paperwork done.

I have Blue registration card and WRS so hopefully should not have much problems.

My question relates to adding a family member (wife) to my application.

Do I just fill the relevent sections for myself, plus additional section 5 for my wife?
Its not very clear if I have to fill in any other sections for my wife. Please adivise.

I understand that I have to document my last 5 years in here. Do I have to send documents from last 5 years to my wife too?

I appreciate any help.

Cheers

Hi M112, I have the same problem.

I'm trying to figure out which sections apply to me, my husband being the main applicant.

As for the relevant period (5 years), as far as I've understood it could be any 5-year period, not necessarily the last 5, it could be the first 5 years you lived in the UK.

If you then decide to apply for Naturalisation then the Guidance on the AN booklet says:
When you apply for a permanent residence document the evidence that you supply for your EEA(PR) application must be for a 5 year period that ended at least a year before you want to apply for citizenship.
For example:
If you apply for Permanent Residence on 1st December 2015 and want to apply for Citizenship once that application is decided, you should send evidence that shows you were exercising Treaty rights as a qualified person or family member from 1 December 2009 to 1 December 2014

Hope that helps a bit.
