Tier 2 SOC Code vs Shortage Occupancy List

Post by srejith_m » Tue Jul 19, 2016 9:54 pm

Hello,
I have passed my Interview with NHS last week for the position of Financial Analyst, This role is Listed in the https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... l_2015.pdf = 3534. Do I need to have a Resident Market Test, if my salary is more than what's mentioned in the SOC code? Also what is the difference between SOC code and shortage occupancy list, one of my friend who is working in VISA Agency mentioned that if salary criteria is met with the SOC code, one doesn't need a Labour Market Test. I am currently on Tier 2 (General) under a different Employer. Can you please help & thanks in advance.

A RLMT test is required for every tier 2 role with the following exemptions:
Switching from tier 1 PSW or tier 4 when you have achieved a degree or better in last period of leave
If you are paid more than £155,300 pa
If the role is on the current shortage occupation list or on the PHd list of roles

There are the main ones.

It would appear you would not qualify based on your circumstances so your employer would have to be a Sponsor and have undertaken the RLMT before they can offer you a role under tier 2

Suggest give that visa agency a miss.
