Hi Karim,

For your information it's clearly written in black and white on the Naturalisation calculation page

Calculation of period of residence

Non-EEA nationals
Residency permissions are evidenced by stamps in your passport, while additional periods may be covered by letters that were issued by the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service granting you permission for a specific period from or to a specified date.

My understand is is you will have to provide stamps but letter for any additional time that was missed on stamps granting time. For example my letter says 10.10.10 but i got the stamp on 15.10.10 letter will help covering the 5 days missing of the stamp.

@ broli thank you very much,
My understanding is the same I was bit confused because most of the people apply by passport endorsement not by the immigration letter.I just wanted to clarify because if some one has significant long gap? They say additional period will be cover by letter.
Example I received letter from justice 14/07/2011 but got it stamped on 18/08/2011.And second letter received on 19/01/2012 but got it stamped 19/02/2012.
I hope this letter covered the gap too.
If they refuse euro 175 will be just waste.
And also did not find any one in this forum who applied by letter and gets the approaval.
thank you so much for your reply.
