Naturalisation - Marriage or residence period?

Post by ceeceebee » Fri Jul 22, 2016 12:45 pm

Hi

Filling out form AN and I've been married to a British citizen for almost 10 years. Came over on a fiancee visa, converted to limited leave to remain and then to ILR in 2009. SO, for the purposes of the application it is then on the basis of my residency, marriage or both? I guess since it's been more than five years since ILR, residency alone is fine...

Just wondering if I should/need to include our wedding certificate. :)

Thanks and hope you all enjoy the upcoming weekend!

Your choice, apply in own right under s.6(1) of BNA.

Or apply as a spouse under s.6(2) of BNA.

Submit appropriate evidence in each case, as per AN form guidance.

Thanks, noajthan. Just didn't know if it mattered which one, really. I would assume the spousal one is more there for people who don't wait as long as I did.
