How many times can I extend spousal visa

Post by uklincoln » Fri Jul 22, 2016 7:59 pm

HI there
I was granted a Spousal visa in Canada in March 2013, however i didn't move to the uk until Feb 2014. The first visa expired Dec 2014 and I have renewed it for 30 months, which ends in Aug 2018. Because I didn't move to the UK straight away, combining both visas I would have only lived in the Uk for 4 1/2 years. Can I renew the spousal visa again? and then apply for ILR later?

Thank you for your help

Yes, you'll have to apply for another FLR(M) extension to make up any shortfall in the 5 year qualifying period for ILR. You'll also have to pay the NHS surcharge.
