Evidence Validity

Post by bella3579 » Mon Jul 25, 2016 8:50 am

Hi everyone

I have recently come [back] to the UK after going back to South Africa and marrying my partner, who is Austrian. I was very quickly granted my EEA Family Permit and was back here within 3 weeks. Now of course comes the fun of applying for the EEA Residence Card.

What I wanted to ask is the following:
- Can I use all of the same documentation now even though some of it is dated from the 13th of June and before? How long is it before documents are considered "outdated"?
- A silly question, but my printer ran out of black in while I was printing the 91 page application form, and most of it printed in blue. Would it still be valid to use that one or must I reprint it to ensure that everything printed in black ink?

Thanks in advance for any help.
Best regards

Congratulations.

Some documents may still be relevant (eg proof of identity);
presumably others will need refreshing; some may only apply after date of arrival in UK (eg joint bills in married name).

The form instructs you to complete the payment section in black ink.
The form itself uses different colours of text in various places.

It is not a legal requirement to use the current form, you could even apply by letter (presumably in any colour of ink).
All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost. E&OE.

I've only been here two weeks, so should I wait until we've received bills with the correct name (Even though I didn't take his surname, I've just changed to being "Mrs" but my name is the same) before I apply for the RC?

I'll definitely fill it out in black pen, but my printout has printed sections that were black in the digital/online form, in blue ink instead of black. That's not a problem?

Thanks very much!

In that case don't change name just for the RC. But a joint bill may be handy.
How about council tax. (Not sure if they'll reissue the bill this year though).

It may be accepted in blue text (as form is not mandatory) but if you are going to have a few dryruns anyway it may be worth getting black for the final print run.

Yeah I'm not in too much of a rush so I think I'll wait until we get a bill with me being referred to as "Mrs" So-and-So, and then reprint the form in black ink. I now have 91 pages of scrap paper :P I feel like a terrible human being!

Thanks for your help.
