Post by jafferdeen » Tue Jul 26, 2016 10:51 am

My friend has recently moved from Germany to UK.He is working full time.
His wife is german national and he hasa a daughter who is German national too.
His wife wants to apply for Qualified Person status in the UK but she is not working and she is full time carer of her daughter .

is she eligible to apply for EEA(QP) status?

Nationality of husband?
What do you mean by full-time carer?

Husband is German national too

Full time carer means that child is not well and she cant leave her alone .Child needs full time presence of someone al the time

If husband is a qualified person then he may sponsor wife (and child) as direct family member/s.
So yes, wife may apply for confirmation of her QP status on that basis.

If relying on her Husband, she can use EEA (FM) as opposed to EEA (QP).

No you are not entirely right.

It also covers EEA FAMILY member of EEA national.

Wife is the applicant for EEA (FM); she is the main applicant.
Sponsor details go in Section 2.
Any family (eg son) go in section 3.

Page 7-8 (etc) is only for biometrics enrolment which only applies to non-EEA persons.
Remember its a generic and poorly-designed form that services many different circumstances.
