Biometric information - EEA PR (EEA nationals)

I understand that biometric information is required as part of the application for a document certifying permanent residence for an EEA national (EEA PR), as per the below:

Biometric information
You’ll be asked to provide your biometric information as part of your application.
You can do this at certain Post Office branches. It costs £19.20.

Does anyone know when during the application is this requested and in how much time does the biometric information have to be sent back to Home Office?

I am a non EU national and still waiting for biometrics. My EEA4 application was sent last month 22/06/16.
Are you an EU national or non EU?! This does matter as far as I know because EU nationals using EEA3 are not required to provide biometrics.

@Benito11 I am an EU national. I am using form EEA (PR) and I thought that biometrics would be requested at some point during the application but reading as well other posts on the forum I don't believe is needed for EU nationals. Thanks and good luck with your application.

How would Home Office know what is the relavant 5 year period chosen by the applicant to provide supporting documents for? I assume that it would be from the dates of the documents? They request the date of the first entry in the UK but I understand that the relevant 5 year period can start at a later date. Would I just include supporting documents for my chosen relevant period without mentioning which it is, as the form does not require it?

Regarding the 2 passport type photos required - would there be a problem if they have been taken more than 1 month ago? Could HO check when they have been actually taken?

EEA nationals DO NOT need to give biometrics regardless of what form they use.

Only non-EEA family members applying for EEA permanent residence are required to enrol biometric information. It is done electronically at the Post Office and it is delivered immediately to the Home Office once you complete it.

I really don't think they will care unless your appearance has radically changed since then. It's not exactly like they can check when you took them...

@ohara Thank you for replying. My appearance hasn't changed, though the photos have been taken about 2 years ago. Perhaps it would be best to have new photos taken, just in case
