7 Year Route

Post by iyabo » Mon Aug 01, 2016 1:50 am

I came to UK in December 2008 when i was 12 years old. I've attend schools here. Both high school and college. I finished college last year 2015. My Dad whom i live with doesn't have the right to stay in UK. I'm now 19 and have now spent over 7 years in UK. Can i apply for (LR) based on 7 year route? Or which other route can i apply for?

Unfortunately, you are no longer under 18, so the 7 Year route is not applicable. Regrettably, neither is the Private Life route for applicants aged between 18-25 applicable, if you have spent less than half your life in the UK.

Can you give the immigration history of your dad?

Thanks Vinny for your answer. My dad has spent 14 years in UK, had a 9 year old daughter that was born here but not yet regularised, her mum is not regularised too. He applied for the 7 year route for her when she turned 7. But the application was not successful. She will apply for registration as a british citizen when she's 10. He hopes to apply for family life as a parent of a british citizen next year. What are his chances and will i be eligible for private life route when i'm 24, then i will have spent halve of my life in UK?
