EEA(PR) - question about ID Card

Post by susapf » Fri Aug 05, 2016 6:06 pm

Hi,

I am working on the EEA(PR) application form for our family.
We all have German national ID Cards which I will send. However, these ID Cards show our address as an address in Germany. Is that going to cause any problems?? I have plenty of documents showing that we have actually all lived in the UK for the last 10 years.

Thanks,
Susanne

Id card proves identity not residence.
It was evidently issued when you lived in Germany.
I think caseworker can figure that out.

Thank you for your reply.

We have actually kept a 'second' residence in Germany which shows in our ID cards although we have lived in the UK for the last 17 years.

I am also wondering if we just send our current ID cards which were not yet valid during all of our chosen 5 year qualifying period (2010 to 2015) or should we also send the old expired ones to prove our EU citizenship during the those years?

If you were seasonal workers I'd be worried about the path not being smooth. A Bulgarian seasonal worker, Desislava Sevdalinova Asenova, had her application rejected because her P60's showed her Bulgarian address. She won her appeal at the Upper Tribunal - IA/15612/2014.
