Advice on good character part of form AN

Post by Semperfi » Sat Aug 06, 2016 6:08 pm

Hi all,

Thanks for taking time out and helping all the confused souls here. I had couple of questions regarding the naturalisation application and would be highly grateful if you could help. I become eligible to apply for citizenship end of this month based on tier1 for 5 years + 1 year ILR. For the good character part, do I declare the following:
1) council tax summons once in 2013 for late payment which I paid + the penalty before the court hearing. Was told this won't affect my credit rating. I read other place on the forum that summons don't count but do I need to declare?
2) my US green card application was rejected due to misrepresentation as the lawyer hadn't sent the documents correctly. I decided not to challenge it as I was already in UK and let it be. Does this have any bearing on the UK citizenship process?

Thanks in advance! And good luck to others

Thanks already checked it out but this doesn't refer to above mentioned cases. I have been legally in UK all the time and didn't have any issues during ILR

1) If in doubt declare it.

2) Would be bad news if a UK application (obviously).
Lawyer's error is your error. The buck stops with you.

Due to data sharing it could ring bells on caseworker's radar.
Unclear impact on your case. (I don't work for HO).
