FLR(M) - Evidence of meeting English language requirement

Post by AMRHCBV » Thu Aug 11, 2016 8:41 pm

Hi guys,

My wife and I are approaching the two and a half year mark, and as such are preparing the application for FLR(M).

Everything is fairly straight forward, however we were hoping if somebody could share some insight into the following:

My wife has a B1 grade from the CAE exam dated July 2012, which was accepted when we applied for the Spouse visa a couple of years back. I understand that this meets the requirement for the FLR(M), however the application form is requesting "An original certificate showing that you have been awarded an appropriate acceptable academic qualification...". Issue is, we submitted the original certificate when applying for the Spouse visa.

We called the lovely folk at the Home Office, who told us that if the certificate was submitted previously, then we do not need to submit this document as evidence accompanying the FLR(M) application.

However, wanting to do as much diligence as possible, we wondered if anybody had any first hand experience of this issue?

Many thanks in advance,
Adam.

Hey guys,

If anyone has any insight on this point it would be much appreciated, still struggling to find any definitive answers online. I imagine it's a common issue?

Her grade is actually B2 of the CEFR, gained from the University of Cambridge's ESOL exam.

We have an electronic statement of results, however this clearly states 'This is not a certificate' on it.

Despite supplying the original certificate with the LTR application, is it required again for the FLR?

Thanks,
Adam.
