How long is she intending to stay?najaf1 wrote:hi all im looking for some advice. i am british and my wife has been in the uk for almost 10 years and is currently applying for naturalization. in fact we have just had a baby boy , unfortunately the little one was born way to prematurely and has some ongoing medical issues, so my wifes sister wants to come visit from west africa and we are currently applying for a 6 month family visit visa, i filled out the form online and she has appointment on sep 5th, my questions are , when i read the guidance it asked for certain supporting documents, but these didnt seem to be a lot , they didnt ask for any proof of me and my wife owning our own home which is where my sister in law will stay , can anyone give me an idea what documents i should put in.
will it help that even though my wife has had her ILR for 5 years her sister has never tried to come before ...only now our son has been born she wants to come
That's too long in my opinion, visits are usually 2/3 weeks and few times over the term on the visa - remember it's NOT a six month visa, it's a visit visa of six month validity.najaf1 wrote:my wifes sister has stated she will stay in the uk for 3 or 4 months to support my wife through all the hosptital appointments my son will have , she has produced bank statements from her country, a letter from her employer and deeds for her home in her country, my wife and i said we are paying for her trip and all her accomodation and travel expenses so we submitted our invitation letter and 6 months bank statements from both my and my wifes bank
