Student visa Maintenance funds can be in 2 accounts?

Post by jan39 » Mon Aug 15, 2016 11:41 am

I have a query, my friend is applying for student visa, he has got the required maintenance funds for 28 days but split into 2 different bank accounts (both his personal accounts). Will it be acceptable to show the funds from 2 accounts?

Yes. As long as both are acceptable types of sources for money, nobody cares how many accounts there are. The point is to prove that your friend has access to the total sum. I had a situation where UKBA (now UKVI) added up the closing balances of my account and my father's bank account. Of course I had to provide a letter and birth certificate along with that. However, if both accounts belong to your friend, none of that is necessary.

No need for views, it's in the Tier 4 Policy Guidance, para 195.

These guidance don't give answer my question about 2 accounts funds. All questions are not answered in guidance, that's why this online platform is available to share experiences, VIEWS and information based on similar cases.

What exactly have you failed to understand in paragraph 195? :?:
195. Where evidence from two or more accounts is submitted, we will assess
the funds available to you as being:
• the closing balance of one account, plus
• any additional money available to you on the date of that
closing balance, for which you have provided the required
evidence.
