Maternity Allowance for Tier 2 General visa holder

Hi

I have a tier 2(gen) spouse visa, No recourse to public funds. I have recently changed my job so I am not entitled for Maternity pay. I wanted to know if Tier 2 visa holders are entitled for Maternity allowance?

Maternity Allowance is based on your NI contributions and is not classed as public funds (see Page 9).

So, you should be fine to claim Maternity Allowance.
