Sources of income on the bank statements I am providing.

Post by yoyo92 » Thu Aug 18, 2016 9:14 pm

Hi guys,

I am using my salaried income to sponsor my partner. All 6 months of bank statements show my monthly wage paid matching the payslips I will provide them.

However, I also make money on the side doing some design work that I transfer from my other account at the end of each month, I am just wondering if they will question these payments? Should I mention I make this side money on my covering letter or something? I also have letter from my employer saying I have worked there for 7 years...

Thanks!

This money 'on the side'. Has it been declared to HMRC and any due tax paid?

I have registered as self-employed to pay tax on this side money by April 2017. I only started making this side money on March of this year...

You could clarify it in 'additional information'. You should also submit your employment contract in addition to the employer's letter.

My only concern would be that Case Workers are easily confused. Make it very clear that you're not including the 'money on the side' to qualify for the minimum income level.

True, I just need to make it clear that has nothing to do with meeting financial requirements. I will mention it briefly in my covering letter and will likely make brief covering note for my bank statements that states the dates my wages are paid for each month.
