Refusal on student visa to Ireland (Re apply or Appeal?)

Post by PrateekRaj » Fri Aug 19, 2016 5:50 pm

Warm Greeting to All,

I'm Prateek Raj from India and I applied for a Short Stay Student Visa to Ireland. My course duration is 1 year in the University of Limerick. Here are some facts about the my visa application,

- I paid my tuition fee in full before applying the visa.
- I got myself a study loan of 9800 EUROS (7000 EUROS were mandatory)
- I arranged an accommodation there and attached a Proof of Accommodation with the application.
- I got my medical insurance done
- The loan was in the my and my father's name. That makes him a sponser (I mentioned it clearly)
- I've never applied for any type of visa to any country before. This was my first attempt for a visa.

When the decisions were out 2 days back and I was REFUSED. The reason mentioned was, "F:- Finances:- Evidence provided is deemed to be insufficient or incomplete".

I need help! What should I do in this case? I'm considering an appeal currently. Can anyone guide me at this stage. I've filed an extention at the university. And if I've to to for an appeal then what's the best way to do that?

Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Thank You All & Warm Regards

What evidence of finances did you submit?
What was lacking?

Hello @noajthan

I submitted the following documents as evidence of finances,

1. A study loan letter of 9864 EUROS (7000 EUROS was mandatory)

2. Payslips of my father(my sponsor) of last 6 months

3. Income tax returns of my father for last 6 months

4. Tuition fee deposit slip from the university.

These are all than I submitted to show that I've access to sufficient funds. I don't know exactly what they found to be unsatisfactory or incomplete as evidence. They just gave me the reason:

"F:- Finance:- Evidence provided is deemed to be insufficient or incomplete." I'm still waiting for the official refusal letter. Please guide me what should be my next step?

Thanks for responding :)

Hi Everyone,

Today I collected the refusal letter from VFS. The reason mentioned for refusal is as follows,

F:- Finances:- evidence provided is deemed insufficient or incomplete. While you have submitted copies of payments of fees and of an education loan, you have not submitted documentation as to the source of such funds e.g. savings, bank accounts, on which such payments were made, and loans secured.

I've the right to appeal. Please let me know what should I do and what documents should I add this time to make a strong appeal.

Thank You & Regards,

Prateek

Did you not submit bank statements? My guess is that they refused it on that basis. But i will let others make suggestions where to go from here.

If i were you, I would submit a fresh application and address the deficiencies they pointed out. If im not mistaken, appeals process can be time consuming.

Hello @kaiser1977

Thanks for replying. No, I didn't attach the bank statements with the visa. Because of the following reasons,

1. My father payed the full tuition fees from his account. And they didn't ask for the about any documents regarding they payment of fees.
2. For fulfilling the requirements of living, which accounts for 7000EURO, I took an education loan of 9850EURO in my name with my father signed as co-borrower. Plus loans are only disbursed into my account when I secure a visa, until then my account balance would be 0 EURO

I might be wrong here as you say that I should have attached the statements too. What do you think? And my course starts on 5th of April,2016 so I don't have time for applying for a fresh visa now. Appeal seems to be the only option.

Regards

Prateek

5th April has already passed. Do you mean September.

Irish Visa Appeal

Post by PrateekRaj » Tue Sep 06, 2016 7:07 am

Hello Everyone,

I'm from India. I've been refused for a student visa on 22nd August, 2016 and I appealed on 24th August. I'm waiting for the decision to come. I've some double and if someone will help me with them, it'll be great.

1. How does the embassy notify the applicant of a appeal in cases of approval or if the decision is upheld?

2. How much time does it usually takes for the embassy to process the appeal?

3. Can students be called for personal interviews in case of appeals?

4. How an appeal is processed, is it live a visa application or something different?

Thank You Guys,

Kind Regards,

Prateek Raj

I know this thread is very old but some please help me.

I got an admission from an Irish university for my masters, I am in process of filing my visa application. So I have arranged a student loan for my remaining tuition fee after scholarship and living cost ( education bond of 7000 euro ).So I am going to submit the following documents for my visa application
-> my bank statement last 3 months
-> Current employer payslips last 3 months
-> Education loan sanction letter from a nationalized bank
-> tuition fee and Education bond payments confirmation letter
-> Father and brother 3 months bank statement ( in case of any emergency they will sponsor me )
Is this enough to show the finance ? Any additional document required please advice

@Prateek did you get you visa approved after appeal ?
