surrender of Indian passport

Post by rbsjp » Sat Aug 20, 2016 8:09 am

I have got the UK naturalisation certificate on 2 August 2016. I have applied for UK passport. How should I get an OCI and surrender my Indian passport? Can I do it online. I live in Northamptonshire

Maybe ask the moderators to move this query to a more appropriate section of the forum - you may get more replies :)

After receiving both UK passport + naturalisation certificate

Step 01

Apply for surrender of Indian Passport and book online appointment via
( you are based in Northampton so try to book the appointment at nearest Indian VFS office in Birmingham)

http://www.vfsglobal.com/India/UK/sched ... tment.html

Bring all your original - current Indian passport, UK passport + Naturalisation certificate + self-address royal mail envelope - each 7.50 pounds + 2 photos ( make sure the photo dimensions properly) .

Please bring xerox copies of all original documents for surrender Indian passport appointment.

Once you apply for surrender Indian certificate then wait for 3 to 5 weeks and you will receive your original /valid Indian passport and surrender certificate.

Step 02

Apply for OCI card appointment first and then bring all the required documents I suppose

Kind Regards
