How to avoid Cooling period post short term UK ICT ?

Post by arooshmishra » Sun Aug 21, 2016 12:09 pm

Hi All,

I am on a short term ICT visa. I am working at client location in UK. I have 3 years of IT experience. I have completed 7 months in UK. My employer has called me back as project is completed. My visa is valid till 7th Jan 2017 and post that I am entitled to server 1 year cooling period.

Can someone suggest me what are the possible options for me to stay in UK. My employer will not extend my stay and hence he will not support me changing visa to long term. As I was told once project is completed I need to travel back to India.

I have heard of Umbrella agencies. are they reliable?
Can I apply for job in some other IT company based out of UK ?
Can I start any food outlet or minor business in UK?

Please advice me all the possible options I have.

Many thanks
Arush

1. Illegal.

2. Of course, subject to that countries qualifying criteria.

3. T1 Ent possibly, need £200k capital.

Theres also T1 Investor visa, need £2,000,000 of your own (or spouses) money to invest.

Or family route; get married.

Or training route to boost your academics: Tier 4.

Yes, that's the purpose of the cooling off period - to give it a rest for a year and give someone else a chance.

Yes, if your proposed salary is >£155,300 pa
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.

Unfortunately with just 3 years of work experience no one will offer more than 40k pounds.

As per the suggestion till now. I conclude that there is way to avoid cooling period. :(
