Acquiring Indian Citizenship

What is the process and time frame to acquire Indian Citizenship if
1. My child was born British, but registered as Indian Citizen (as one parent was Indian) and then later acquired British Citizenship + OCI.
2. My child was born British, acquired British Citizenship + OCI. (i.e. was never registered as Indian Citizen)
